Touch Me

Joanna Duany

Extracting individuality and retaliation within art installations, Joanna Duany is an artist who challenges the narrative of expectations. She explores explicit themes including sex, gender expectations, and feminine rage. Duany creates installations that confront the viewer, demanding attention through confronting text. Although her chosen subject matter is notoriously difficult to address, she aids discussions through a form of cheeky humor.

Duany was born and raised in South Florida, educating themselves in forms of graphic design within New World School of the Arts. During her time there, she has been featured in Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Rising Stars Gallery, and First Gen Art Exhibition. Currently residing in Missouri, Duany attends the Kansas City Art Institute, pending graduation with a BFA in Sculpture (2027).
