Daniel Abiva Hunt is a writer from South Jersey. His other work appears in New England Review, The Masters Review, Cutleaf, Grist, CRAFT, The Maine Review, Portland Review, and elsewhere. He is a recipient of a grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation. He won the 2025 Hatfield/Westheimer Short Story Prize and the 2023 Launch Pad Prose Prize and was a finalist for the 2024 New England Review Award for Emerging Writers, the 2023 Dzanc Short Story Collection Prize, and the 2022 Masters Review Short Story Award. He holds an MFA from the University of Houston and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cincinnati, where he teaches and studies fiction.
